We have a dedicated Health and Safety team ensuring the safety, health and well-being of our staff, customers and stakeholders in the areas we operate in:

Accreditations.

  • SQAS Africa – We are a SQAS Africa accredited logistics service provider. We are currently accredited for:
    • Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Packaged
    • Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Bulk Liquid
    • Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Bulk Gas
  • Responsible Care –We are a CAIA (Chemical & Allied Industries’ Association) Responsible Care signatory.
  • SAIOSH (South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) member.

Training.

  • We offer our drivers and staff extensive and continuous training in their designated fields. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Conveyance of Dangerous Goods (Hazchem)
    • Professional Driver Training Programme – on-site outsourced accredited professional driver trainer.
    • Tremcard refresher training
    • Chapter 6 – Explosive Act refresher training
    • Working at Heights training (fall protection training)
    • Fatigue Management and Awareness training.
    • Zero Tolerance Training (Substance Abuse and Driving under the influence)
    • Driver Refresher Training
    • Emergency Response and Preparedness Training
    • BBS (Behaviour Based Safety) Training
  • We utilise an innovative electronic training programme (tablet-based Google forms) to assist us on our journey to zero harm.
  • BBS (Behaviour Based Safety)
    • BBS is a process that creates a safety partnership between management and employees that continually focuses people’s attention and actions on their daily safety behaviour.

Incident
Management.

We pride ourselves in closing our incidents in an honest, reliable, compliant and timeous fashion. All incidents are handled and reported in accordance with relevant, local legislation. We carry the correct insurances that cover:

  • GIT Goods in Transit – Cover to the value of the goods being transported.
  • Hazchem – Cover for environmental clean-up.
  • Public Liability
  • Third-Party Liability

 

Waste Reduction Programme.

  • Emission Reduction
    • All vehicles are Euro 4 specification.
    • AdBlue for compliant vehicles.
    • Driver Programme ensures reduction of emissions by educating drivers on efficient driving techniques.
  • Borehole water is utilised at depots for operations.
  • In-house plumbers and electricians (quick replacement of faulty items)
  • Energy Saving bulb replacement programme.
  • Waste is disposed and recycled with accredited members of the Rose Foundation.

 

QC
(Quality Control).

24-Hour quality control inspections are completed on vehicles prior to departure to loading points.

Risk.

Risk Management is at the forefront of strategic management decisions.

Frequent risk assessments are performed on all activities (e.g. routes, journey management, work instructions..)
